Eastbourne and District Canine Society
Open Show 24th June 2018

First of all would like to say thank you to the committee for giving me the opportunity to judge Miniature Schnauzers and Schnauzers at their summer open show. It was my first trip to Eastbourne and District Canine Society Show, I had a great day and would like to congratulate them for putting on a well organised and friendly show. Also my thanks go to Anthea Eardley for her help and support as steward.

I’d also like to say thank you to the exhibitors for their good sportsmanship, and bringing along their dogs on such a gorgeous sunny day.

Miniature Schnauzers
Puppy D/B (ent 1 )
1. Cherrymans – Marnimica Mix n Match. 7 month male.
Very smart and balanced for age. Head of good length, dark eyes with keen expression. Neat ears and ear set. Correct dentition. Nice arch to neck and clean through to well laid shoulders. Short in the loin, nicely angled at rear and strong through the hock. Jacket of good texture and colour. Good for size. Moved soundly out and back with good reach and drive. Would like a little more forechest, but will body up with maturity. BP.

Yearling D/B (ent 2)
1. Kirkwoods – Dakyla Duel at Dawn. 14 month male.
Black and sliver of good colour with decent coat texture. Good strong head, broad between neat ears and ear set. Maybe a little cheeky but was panting heavily in the heat. Dark eyes with alert expression. Correct dentition. Square in outline with plenty of bone. Arched neck into well, laid shoulders. Nice depth to chest and ribs well sprung. Straight through the hocks. Moved soundly. OK for size. Would like more forechest. RBoB

2). Mills – Pippiash Winsome Witch. 20 month female
Nice feminine head of good length, dark oval eyes with keen expression. Neat ears and ear set. Correct dentition. Lovely arched neck into clean shoulders and strong top line. Short in the loin giving square appearance. Harsh wiry coat of good colour. Moved OK out and back but lost out on drive and vigor to 1. Difficult decision.

Post Graduate D/B (ent 1)
1). Ayling’s – Quickpaw Prettiest Star. 2.5 year female
Black and sliver with jacket of good colour and texture. Nice feminine head with dark eyes and keen expression. Good ear set. Slightly arched neck into laid back shoulder. Decent forechest, but could do with a little more depth and less length in the loin. Correct dentition. Moved soundly from all angles. OK for size.

Open D/B (ent 3)
1).Cherrymans – Ruddlands Chop n’ Change ShCM. 3 year male
Nice and square in outline with plenty of body and depth of chest. OK for size. Good length of head, moderately broad with neat well set ears. Dark, oval eyes with keen expression. Correct dentition. Nice harsh coat of good colour with undercoat. Slightly arched neck into well laid shoulders and strong top line. Short through the loin. Good angulation front and rear making him balanced on the move with reach and drive. BoB

2).Myers – Ermsy Lad Himself. 3.5 year male
Slightly longer in outline than 1. Nice harsh jacket of good colour with undercoat. Good length of head, moderately broad with keen dark eyes and neat set ears. Not quite scissor bite. Slightly arched neck into well laid shoulders and strong top line. Moved well with reach and drive.
