Handling critique – Judge Chimene Carrick
Thank you to Eastbourne and District for asking me to judge, I really enjoyed my day.
A lovely entry of fantastic handlers.
6-11years 1st Emily Moore Easy winner, eye catching as soon as she entered the ring, very well presented and polite. Lovely straight lines and showed the mouth correctly. Good communication with her dog, look forward to seeing her in the future. Promising young handler. Pleased to award her Best Junior Handler in Show, just lost out the Best Handler in Show on her pattern work. 2nd Hebe Davies Another promising young handler, worked well with a larger dog, moved the dog at the correct pace. Could be a little tidier. 3rd Bobbie Lee 12-16 years 1st Rebecca Hollebon Lovely Handler, her pattern work was very neat. Nicely stacked on the table, moved her Dog at the correct speed with good communication between dog and handler. excellent shadowing. 2nd Abbey Webb Very close decision between 1 & 2, very good handler with neat lines just need to practice and the points of the Dog. 3rd Phoebe Toublic
17-24 Years 1st Abbeygail Longhurst Very close between my 1 and 2. Very accurate when asked points of the Dog. Aware of my presence, had good straight lines and sharp corners. 2nd Tess Newson Pushed hard for first place in the class, excellent rapport with her dog, letting her dog move freely. Just needs to practice points of the dog, could easily be different on another day.
